PRAYER FOR KIDS GOING AWAY TO CAMP

In the beauty of your world, O God, you show us how great your love is. Be with our young people as they go away to camp. Open their eyes to the wonder of creation and, in it, let them draw nearer to you. Let their play be joyful. Let them encounter wonder and surprise as they learn. Let their rest be peaceful. Keep our young people well and safe, in the knowledge that they are deeply loved by you and by us, who hold them dear in our hearts for ever. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Come Help Pack Lunches with Shine a Light - Thursday, July 7 at 7 p.m. in Parish Hall:
Come help, learn some things, have some fun and do what we do best, community. Many hands make light work so come one, come all on July 7 at 7 p.m. Our partner, Action Ministries, will deliver the lunches directly to the neighborhoods on July 8. Help us fill their stomachs with a healthy lunch so that bad choices are not caused by hunger on a hot summer day in 2016.

7-7:30 - Speaker - Elizabeth Bigham - she is a special agent with the GBI in the Child Exploitation and Crimes Unit. Her presentation will give a look into the way the internet is used these days to lure girls into prostitution and sex trafficking.
7:30 - make and pack the lunch bags - The kids at risk receive free lunches at school but during the summer go without. We will make healthy lunches including sandwiches with a quarter pound of meat and a slice of cheese as that might be the only food they receive all day.

We will encourage parents to come (parental discretion advised for children attending speaker portion of evening). For children not attending the speaker portion, we plan to have the art room open where they will decorate bags.
