AND ALSO WITH Y'ALL: PEACE, PAJAMAS, AND PATRICK

Mo. Sarah Fisher

This summer, we're going to offer a season of peace. On Sunday evenings in August, we will invite the entire parish to participate in what we're calling And also with y'all: Peace, Pajamas and Patrick. From 5:00-7:00 PM, all who wish are invited to a simple supper, program and play focused on peace. We'll be looking at peace in the world, peace in humanity and peace in our hearts. We'll have wonderful activities, all-ages games and adventures, and a time to reflect in small groups. ALL AGES are welcome and encouraged. Come to one or two sessions or come to the all! And we'll send you home all ready to be tucked in, so kids, youth and courageous adults are invited and welcome to come in their PJs!

I hope you'll mark this event on your calendar. Want to be part of the planning team? Let me know!

** Please note: this replaces the previously scheduled Family Summer Camp in July. **

SPARKS Meeting Tues., May 17, 10 a.m. AND 7:00 p.m. Room 8: We will enter, unarmed, into enemy territory - Medicare, with more parts than tere are notes in an octave, supplement plans, advantage plans, drug costs and enrollments.  We expect heavy casualties!  Being serious for a moment, this is a subject most important to us all for which the key time is year end. However, the requests for feedback on priorities put this one on the frontest burner. Discussion among friends will help set us up to understand what we see and read  on the subject and for some of us there may be moves we can make now.  Also, calling help lines and other research will be easier before the hectic enrollment period and set us up for that time of battle (sorry - just couldn't let go). Everyone will learn something from our various war stories and medals will be awarded. (the medals are of course round. They are also soft and soggy and have a hole in the middle) Be there or be square.

Get Out!  Day hike up Blood Mountain in North Georgia on Saturday, May 21: Meet at the church at 8 a.m., we plan to return by 4 p.m.
The recent church-wide survey indicated that people wanted more opportunities to get together. So here's one for you! Moderate hike: 5 mile round trip. The first 2.5 miles is largely uphill. Logistics: Please bring your own food and water. Some folks hike this trail in running shoes, but it is quite rocky. Hiking boots recommended. Parents, please plan to accompany any hiker under 18 years old. This hike is weather permitting. If interested, please contact Wayne Ware. Email: wsquared1@gmail.com. 404-213-8566.
