Anam Cara

Anam Cara is Gallic for "Soul Friend." It comes out of the Celtic tradition of encouraging us to find a spiritual companion who journeys with us on our path of life.

Along the way, Mother Julia will support you in your own discernment of the presence and invitations of the Spirit towards healing, towards transformation, towards freedom, towards authenticity and towards service in the goodness and love of God - all grounded in the nurturing of a growing intimacy between you and God.

To get more information, email The Rev. Julia Rusling, Director of the Anam Cara program, or call her at 770-455-6523.  Click here to read the brochure.

Join the Diocese of Atlanta and others on the Jonathan Daniels Pilgrimage Aug. 15:
This year the Episcopal Church commemorates the 50th anniversary of the death of Jonathan Myrick Daniels, an Episcopal seminarian who died Aug. 20, 1965, in Hayneville, Alabama, during the struggle for voting rights. This milestone adds a compelling note to the pilgrimage on Saturday, August 15, which honors Jonathan and all of the Alabama martyrs.

The Right Rev. Michael Curry,  presiding bishop-elect and bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina, is scheduled to preach at the communion service in the courthouse.

PAINTING LOOKING UP

Art Lab, led by Nancy Dusenberry and Diane Rankin

Do you have fantastic dreams that you'd like to keep as teachers? Memories that you'd like to freeze in time and revisit? We begin with a meditation time to "call up" and focus our chosen images, talk a bit, and sketch. Subsequent weeks are spent producing and resolving. No prior experience needed.

DREAMS: LISTENING TO GOD

Library, led by Brenda Marquis and Kendra Yates

The Dream Group provides a safe and sacred space to share dreams and help participants find spiritual fulfillment in them. Participants are also helped to discern what God might be telling them in "God's forgotten language." Every week varies according to who attends and the dream selected for discussion.

OUTREACH

Shine a Light

Shine A Light lunch packing is over for this summer and St. Patrick's packed 400 healthy lunches for vulnerable kids in June and July. July was sponsored by The Brotherhood of St. Andrew and we had around 30 people who showed up and helped.

Brenda Waters, Mary Lambert, and Bonnie Stephenson presented what is going on in our own neighborhoods covering sting operations and arrests in Brookhaven and Dunwoody. David White fed everyone pizza and then we all pulled together and packed 200 lunches in less than an hour.
Many folks at St. Patrick's decorated lunch bags so that every child would have something special. We are told by Action Ministries the kids love to pick their own bag based on their favorite artwork.  Take a look below. The artwork was amazing by kids and adults alike!

Parents, mark your calendars for Sept 27 after church as Revved Up Kids will conduct a 2 hour awareness and self defense class for kids ages, 11 - 18. Stay tuned.

God is good!
Malachis web logo

Malachi's Storehouse in Dunwoody Crier: The Crier wrote a story about Malachi's which ran on July 21. You can read the story and see photos here. You can see photos from Bill Monk here - added to and updated, including a photo of the new space and fridge.

Stephen Ministry: If you are feeling troubled about a problStephen Ministriesem in your life, please know that Stephen Ministers are always available. They will be there to listen and to walk with you during the times when you most need them. God wants you to be at peace, and the Stephen Ministers are trained to help you find that peace. Call Fr. Dick at 770-455-6523 or Anne Duncan at 770-454-9053 to be put in touch with a Stephen Minister. Your request and conversations will be kept totally confidential.
