Anam Cara is Gallic for "Soul Friend." It comes out of the Celtic tradition of encouraging us to find a spiritual companion who journeys with us on our path of life. Along the way the Anam Cara supports you in your own discernment of the presence and invitations of the Spirit towards healing, towards transformation, towards freedom, towards authenticity and towards service in the goodness and love of God - all grounded in a growing intimacy between you and God. To get more information, email The Rev. Julia Rusling or call her at 770-455-6523. Click here to read the brochure.

Join St. Patrick's for a bit of Adult Christian Formation this Summer
Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, passion fierce as the grave. (Song of Solomon 8: 6 - 9)
| June 21: "The Fault in our Stars" |
Every Sunday during the summer (except 5 July) in room 1.
Do you have a movie you want to share with the congregation? St. Patrick's Goes to the movies is your opportunity to present clips from and lead a short discussion of a movie that has special spiritual significance to you. Contact Kathryn Turman.
Vision Stewardship
July 12, 19, August 2, 9, 16 and 30.
Note: the class August 30 will be presented at the parish retreat.
Parlor, led by Keith Harper
Too often what parishes call Stewardship is only a short-term, anxiety-motivated, half-hearted, hail-Mary pass Fall fundraising campaign focusing on the survival of the parish and based on a theology of scarcity, resulting in little or no transformation of the parish, its members, or the community.
Stewardship, however, is a year-round, mission-driven, committed, assured process focusing on bringing about God's kingdom, based on a theology of abundance and gratitude, and has the power to transform the ethos of the parish, its members, and the community.
- What is your vision for your life?
- What role does stewardship play in your life?
- What is your vision for the future of St. Patrick's?
- What role should stewardship play at St. Patrick's?
- How does stewardship play into vision?
- How does vision play into stewardship?
- How do both stewardship and vision play into the future of St. Patrick's?
Painting Looking Up will continue as usual, meeting in the art lab, led by Nancy Dusenberry and Diane Rankin
Do you have fantastic dreams that you'd like to keep as teachers? Memories that you'd like to freeze in time and revisit? We begin with a meditation time to "call up" and focus our chosen images, talk a bit, and sketch. Subsequent weeks are spent producing and resolving. No prior experience needed.
Dreams: Listening to God
Library, led by Brenda Marquis and Kendra Yates
on the 2nd and 4th Sundays during the summer.
The Dream Group provides a safe and sacred space to share dreams and help participants find spiritual fulfillment in them. Participants are also helped to discern what God might be telling them in "God's forgotten language." Every week varies according to who attends and the dream selected for discussion.

OUTREACH
Shine A Light June 18th at 7pm in the Parish Hall: Come help pack 200 lunches for kids at risk this summer. We'll start decorating bags at 7:00 p.m. while we catch up with the Shine A Light Team on what St. Patrick's is doing to bring Awareness and Prevention to help end DMST (domestic minor sex trafficking). This blight on our society is in our own back yard in Atlanta and surrounding areas of Georgia. Seem overwhelming? It is but if we take one step at a time and don't stop, community can end this no matter how long it takes. The Shine A Light Team will speak about how St. Patrick's and joining with other communities can win this battle. What can you do right now? Come help pack healthy lunches for vulnerable young girls who are at risk on Thursday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall at St. Patrick's. Much better choice for young girls than lunching with a pimp. Let's block those efforts in every way possible by focusing on the Shine A Light mission of Awareness and Prevention. You can read the Shine a Light email newsletter here. Stephen Ministry: If you are feeling troubled about a problem in your life, please know that Stephen Ministers are always available. They will be there to listen and to walk with you during the times when you most need them. God wants you to be at peace, and the Stephen Ministers are trained to help you find that peace. Call Fr. Dick at 770-455-6523 or Anne Duncan at 770-454-9053 to be put in touch with a Stephen Minister. Your request and conversations will be kept totally confidential. |
