You will find St. Patrick's is home to families & singles of all ages. We seek God through outward expressions and inward contemplation, finding spirituality on a personal level. We also enjoy our fellowship time together! Join us on any Sunday!

Anam Cara

Anam Cara is Gallic for "Soul Friend." It comes out of the Celtic tradition of encouraging us to find a spiritual companion who journeys with us on our path of life. Along the way the Anam Cara supports you in your own discernment of the presence and invitations of the Spirit towards healing, towards transformation, towards freedom, towards authenticity and towards service in the goodness and love of God - all grounded in a growing intimacy between you and God. To get more information, email The Rev. Julia Rusling or call her at 770-455-6523.  Click here to read the brochure.

PARISH HAPPENINGS

Centering Prayer: During the summer Centering Prayer will be meeting on Mondays at 1 p.m. in the library. The Tuesday group will merge with this group for the summer.

The Gathering June 7 at 5:00 p.m.:
Bring your own Gathering. All are invited to bring a short reading. A few of these readings will be selected to share with the group, and these will be the basis of our group reflection.
A contemplative and progressive gathering with prayer and poetry... music, guided meditation, and silence... Inspired by wisdom traditions, modern Celtic spirituality, and natural spirituality. Music by Ramsay and friends. This is an *OPEN* invitation to all ages, for anyone who may enjoy an off-center, earthy and experiential approach to gathered spirituality.

Parents of Youth Mission Trip Participants: Please make plans to attend a parent meeting before the youth head out for the Mission Trip. Here we'll cover what you can expect, packing lists and other generally important pieces of information.

Four meetings have been set up. You need only attend ONE. Youth are welcome as well, but not required.

Monday, June 8 at 6:30 PM

Tuesday, June 9 at 10:30 AM

Please let Mother Sarah know which session you'll attend. She can be reached by email here or call her at 770-455-6523.

This year's theme will be on the parables of Jesus. Activities will involve literature, parables, art, discovery, movement, and so much more! Registration and Volunteer information coming soon. The involvement of many hands and hearts supports the camp's blossoming as a ministry of the whole of St. Patrick's.

There are many ways to be involved. We are actively recruiting adult and youth (rising 8th graders and above) volunteers to join the fun. Please speak to Sarah or Victoria if you discern a call to join us in this wonderful ministry.

PARISH RETREAT - REGISTER NOW

The time has come to choose and reserve your room for this year's Parish weekend retreat, August 28-30.  We will be trying a new venue, with an ALL INCLUSIVE package just an hour away outside Dahlonega. Lets have a fun time sharing bread and getting to know each other just that little bit deeper!

Our coordinator, Alison Forbes, will be in the Parish Hall before and after the 10:30 a.m. service this week. Please come along, ask questions, pick up an info/booking sheet and be ready to reserve your room for $100 deposit. We have 3 lodges (each with either 8 or 16 bedrooms and own bathroom) almost all rooms are accessible. Please go to their website for more information about the venue and all its facilities.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION

  • Nursery (newborn - 4 years old) - 9:00 a.m.
  • Adult Christian Formation -

Join us for any of these classes:

ST. PATRICK'S GOES TO THE MOVIES

Room 1, led by Kathryn Turman

Volunteers from the congregation show clips from the movies that they find spiritually significant.  Last summer's offerings included explorations of A Man for All Seasons and The Fisher King. Do you want to share a movie?  Contact Kathryn Turman to sign up.

VISION STEWARDSHIP

Room 8, led by Keith Harper - June and August, 6 Sessions
These sessions will focus on a theology of abundance and gratitude rather than on a theology of scarcity.  Biblical understandings of, Episcopal teaching about, and new perspectives of stewardship will be explored in order to address this question:  What does a parish that seeks to thrive need to do?

PAINTING LOOKING UP

Art Lab, led by Nancy Dusenberry and Diane Rankin

Do you have fantastic dreams that you'd like to keep as teachers? Memories that you'd like to freeze in time and revisit? We begin with a meditation time to "call up" and focus our chosen images, talk a bit, and sketch. Subsequent weeks are spent producing and resolving. No prior experience needed.

DREAMS: LISTENING TO GOD

Library, led by Brenda Marquis and Kendra Yates

The Dream Group provides a safe and sacred space to share dreams and help participants find spiritual fulfillment in them. Participants are also helped to discern what God might be telling them in "God's forgotten language." Every week varies according to who attends and the dream selected for discussion.

OUTREACH

Shine A Light - pack a healthy lunch for kids at risk on June 18 and July 16 at 7:00 p.m in Parish Hall

Action Ministries facilitates the distribution and we have volunteers in place to deliver to our designated distribution center. We are joining a community of churches and organizations throughout Atlanta and surrounding areas to pack and deliver thousands of lunches to vulnerable girls this summer.

Let's gather in the parish hall at 7:00 p.m. on June 18 and July 16. While we decorate the bags, hear from the Shine A Light Team on plans to keep moving toward the eventual destruction of domestic minor sex trafficking. They will speak about plans now and in the future.

This is a great cause and you can explore where or if you want to plug in. There are a variety of ways to make a difference now and into next year when the Advocates for Kids program is in place. SAL (Shine A Light) is community working together to do what we can to take action against this "blight on the human race" to quote President Carter. DMST (domestic minor sex trafficking) will end if we keep the effort alive and moving.

We will pack in an assembly line and be done in an hour with your help. If you helped last year, please come again. If this will be your first time, welcome!
