Wonderful Wednesdays - Embracing an Alternative Orthodoxy (Fr. Richard Rohr)

Facilitators Fr. Dick and Kathryn Turman

Nave

Through November 19

Wednesday nights begin with dinner in our Parish Hall! Dinner is served 6:00-6:50 p.m. to allow participation in Adult Formation. Adult meals are $7, Youth and Children (3-12 years of age) are $5, with a Family Maximum of $20. Please email Amanda Vaughn  by the Monday before to make your dinner reservation. Childcare, at no charge, is available by reservation through the church office by the Monday before.

Fr. Richard Rohr, a globally recognized ecumenical teacher and Franciscan priest, invites us to explore a Christian faith informed by contemplation, mysticism, compassion, justice and centuries of rich Christian history. In separate video segments Fr. Rohr stimulates thoughtful and heartfelt discussion as we delve deeply into the themes of Atonement Theology, Eco-Spirituality, the Cosmic Christ, Orthodoxy vs. Orthopraxy, and Mysticism over Moralism.

Victoria Schwartz's
Out and About

On Sunday
mornings, you'll usually find Victoria in the back hall overseeing the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for the St. Patrick's families. But did you know that Victoria also works with CGS programs both locally and nationally? Victoria works as a trainer, training teachers both here in Atlanta and wherever churches call her. This summer she trained teachers at Christ Church in Norcross and traveled to Cincinnati to work with a Presbyterian church. Victoria also served for 4 years on the host team for formation leader (teacher trainer) courses held here in Atlanta.

This past year Victoria began serving as a founding board member of the Georgia Regional CGS Association.  The kick-off meeting was hosted at St. Patrick's last January.  Victoria is currently in Phoenix to attend and to serve as a panel participant at the International Celebration of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This conference celebrates the 60th anniversary of the work of CGS worldwide. Pray for Victoria as she travels, representing St. Patrick's at this international gathering.
