St. Patrick's Zen Garden

How to Enjoy Our Zen Garden Lenten Sacred Space

There are no hard rules for using the Zen Garden, we only ask that you come in quiet, and respectfully add to the art. You can do this by using the rake, rocks, candles, etc. The Zen Garden is
to be enjoyed by all, children and adults, we ask that our older children help guide any young children you may see at the table. Come and watch this quiet sacred space transform each week of
Lent.

This Week

Vestry on Retreat: The vestry of St. Patrick's is on retreat this weekend at the Hinton Center in Haynesville, NC. Please keep the vestry in your prayers.

Welcome the Rev. Pat Stevens:
We welcome Pat Stevens back to St. Patrick's this Sunday, March 23. She will preside and preach at both morning services.

Lenten Meditation Booklets:
During the season of Lent the Episcopal Relief and Development ministry is focusing on Economic Empowerment for women using a wonderful daily meditation which is free for the parish and are on the table outside the office and in the nave on the usher table. Would you join us in taking just a few moments a day during Lent to reflect on the burden so many sisters across the globe endure each day in holding their families and communities together?  If you have questions regarding the daily meditation or involvement with the Episcopal Relief and Development please email James Tola or call him at 678.467.2222. More information can be found here.

Celtic Evening Prayer on Sundays in Lent:
We invite you to experience God's goodness in the profound simplicity of Evening Prayer inspired by the Celtic tradition. We will gather each Sunday in Lent in the Chapel at 5:00 p.m. for liturgy led by clergy and parishioners. Come to the quiet. Come to adore. Come to be transformed this Lent.

Join the Old Testament class for a 3-Sunday study of The Book of Ruth: Bring your coffee to Room 8 at 9:15 a.m. The bestseller novella and parable book is named after its heroine, a young Moabite widow who leaves her land and family to follow her mother-in-law to Bethlehem in Judah, where she will become the great-grandmother of King David. The book shows that God's message can come unexpectedly and directly from others no matter the culture and laws which seek to limit their power and worth, and that HESED, kindness and loyalty, are more important than gender or ethnicity or nationality. March 23, Chapter 4 and Summary.

Wonderful Wednesday Night Dinner and Program: Our dinner and program continues in Lent. The cost for children 12-years and younger is $5.00, cost of an adult meal is $7.00. Please be sure to be a part of this upcoming program and dinner. Email your reservations to Amanda Vaughn by the Monday before - please note if you need childcare.

Ministry Update

Malachis web logo

$14,000 Raised for Malachi's Storehouse: The numbers continue to rise as contributions still are coming in!  So far we have raised $14,000 to feed those in need.  On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, about 40 Malachi's volunteers and advocates joined 15,000 citizens to walk through the streets of downtown Atlanta raising money for those in need.   Nearly a half million was raised city wide in the event.   As Malachi's Storehouse fed 31,600 visitors last year, this money is greatly needed.   There's still time to give as the campaign runs until March 31.   See Kathy Malcolm Hall if you are interested in joining the circle of generosity.

Stephen Ministry Invites You to a Workshop: You're invited to attend a workshop led by Carl McColeman on Contemplative Prayer and Presence. This workshop is being held on Sat. Mar 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church (571 Holt Rd, Marietta, GA). This program invites you to reflect on, and experience, the Christian tradition of contemplative prayer, and to consider how this prayer can be a blessing to Christians who minister to others. You do not need to be a Stephen Minister to attend. For more information or to register for this event, email Anne Duncan  or call her at 770-454-9053. Please let us know by no later than Monday, Mar 23 if you would like to attend.
