This Week

Lenten Meditation Booklets: During the season of Lent the Episcopal Relief and Development ministry is focusing on Economic Empowerment for women using a wonderful daily meditation which is free for the parish. Would you join us in taking just a few moments a day during Lent to reflect on the burden so many sisters across the globe endure each day in holding their families and communities together? The statistics below are sobering and a far cry from loving our neighbors as ourselves. Success is happening, yet only through the global community can women being oppressed find hope and the multiplier of relief happens through the telling of their stories. ERD mediation booklets are at St. Patrick's on the table outside the office and in the nave on the usher table. If you have questions regarding the daily meditation or involvement with the Episcopal Relief and Development please email James Tola or call him at 678.467.2222.

Celtic Evening Prayer on Sundays in Lent:
We invite you to experience God's goodness in the profound simplicity of Evening Prayer inspired by the Celtic tradition. We will gather each Sunday in Lent in the Chapel at 5:00 p.m. for liturgy led by clergy and parishioners. Come to the quiet. Come to adore. Come to be transformed this Lent.

Join the Old Testament class for a 3-Sunday study of The Book of Ruth: Bring your coffee to Room 8 at 9:15 a.m. The bestseller novella and parable book is named after its heroine, a young Moabite widow who leaves her land and family to follow her mother-in-law to Bethlehem in Judah, where she will become the great-grandmother of King David. The book shows that God's message can come unexpectedly and directly from others no matter the culture and laws which seek to limit their power and worth, and that HESED, kindness and loyalty, are more important than gender or ethnicity or nationality. March 9, Overview and Chapter; March 16, Chapter 2 & 3; March 23, Chapter 4 and Summary.

Wonderful Wednesday Night Dinner and Program: Our dinner and program continues in Lent. The cost for children 12-years and younger is $5.00, cost of an adult meal is $7.00. Please be sure to be a part of this upcoming program and dinner. Email your reservations to Amanda Vaughn by the Monday before - please note if you need childcare.

(March 12, 19, 26 and April 2, 9)

The lectures will be streamed live from the Cathedral to interested parishes throughout the Diocese. Come to St. Patrick's to watch and join the community as we learn together and with others around the Dicoese. More information available here.

St. Patrick's Professional Women's Group: This month's meeting on Thursday, March 13 will feature fellowship, laughter, and discussion as we wrap up the discussion we had last month on "Making Room," and then watch a wonderful Irish movie, "Waking Ned Devine."  Shepherd's Pie will be served. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., Making Room discussion at 7:30 p.m., movie at 8:00 p.m. We hope you can join us, and perhaps bring a snack or beverage to share with the group (maybe even Irish themed or green?). So we know how much Shepherd's Pie to make, please RSVP to Leslie Bishop  or to Teresa Hoyt. "May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright, happy hours. That stay with you all the year long." Looking forward to seeing you - Leslie Bishop
