Liturgy Note: We will be continuing our Advent practice of silence before the services. From 7:45 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. and again from 10:15 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. we ask for silence in the office and narthex as well as in the chapel and the nave.  While there are no announcements, every attempt will be made to include all necessary information about church happenings in the service bulletin. That means the services will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

If you have announcements you would like placed in the bulletin and/or Shamrock, please email them to Amanda Vaughn by noon on Tuesdays.

Upcoming Events:
  • Tonight (Jan. 15): Wonderful Wednesday Dinner and Program recommences with "Hellenistic and Greek Influences on Early Christianity"
  • Sunday, January 26: Annual Meeting with Vestry Elections between the services(more info below)
Annual Meeting and Vestry Elections: Vestry Elections are coming up on Sunday, Jan. 26 between services as part of our Annual Meeting. We will be electing four new vestry members for the 2014-2017 term, as well as a youth vestry member for a one year term.

Wonderful Wednesday Night Dinner and Program: Our dinner and program is back. We start with a terrific three week course on Hellenistic and Roman Influences on Early Christianity, led by Daniel Shoemake. The earliest Christians lived in a pluralistic world; Jewish and "pagan" cultures informed the texts, thoughts, and traditions of young Christian communities. This class seeks to explore the Greek and Latin influences on the early Church and to explore the evolution of Christianity from its non-Jewish heritage. The goal of this class is to realize that multiple religious and cultural backgrounds influenced the creation and evolution of Christian theology and practice. Daniel received degrees in Ancient Greek and Latin and is completing his Master of Divinity at Emory University. He is a Postulant to the Priesthood in our Diocese, working as the seminarian at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.

Our meal tonight will be a delicious catered Greek meal. The cost for children 12-years and younger is $5.00, cost of an adult meal is $7.00.

Please be sure to be a part of this upcoming program and dinner. Email your reservations to Amanda Vaughn by the Monday before - please note if you need childcare.

Cloverleaf Wants to Hear from Book Lovers: We'd like to know about your reading life - favorite books and authors, serious and fun, books that changed your life, hints on how to fit in more reading time. Forms are in the narthex and the Cloverleaf box on the office door. Please return to Cloverleaf box. This is a parish of readers and we'd like to know how and why that is.

Hospitality House Is Back: Come catch up with your St. Patrick's community and enjoy a little comfort food to stave off the hunger pangs as you chat. We are trying some new concepts to make Hospitality House more manageable for those that would like to support it by hosting or by bringing one tray of food. If you would like to host for a particular Sunday or bring a tray of food for a particular Sunday, please sign up at the parish hall bulletin board or email Elaine Judge.

Stewardship Update:  We have received 103 adult pledge cards for a total of $420,592 . It is never too late to pledge! Pledge cards for the 2014 Operating Budget are available in the office and you can find a printable pledge card here. Pledge cards should be returned to Nicole Cone, Parish administrator. "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Cor. 9:7

Professional Women's Group: The group will take the month of January off and reconvene in February 2014.

Baptisms: If you or your children haven't been baptized and are considering it, we'd like to know. We are hoping to have some baptisms on Easter Sunday (April 20). Email Father Dick if you are interested.
