  Upcoming Offerings for Children

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a method of Christian formation for children ages 2 to 11, based on the child's longing to "draw closer to God by myself." CGS uses Montessori principles to create an environment in which the child can draw closer to Jesus through Bible and liturgy. The children hear the Word and respond through work, worship and prayer.

If you have ever wondered what this program is about, feel free to come and observe in our "atria," the prepared rooms for the children. We look forward to a wonderful year with the children. If you would like more information about the program or would like to volunteer, please email Victoria Schwartz, our CGS director.

Children's Music Program: The Children's Music Program augments the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd curriculum through song, scripture, and creativity. The goal of the music program is to provide children with a rich spiritual experience through multiple modalities with an emphasis on music. The program integrates choral experiences with Orff Schulwerk. Repertoire is drawn from the Catechesis Song Books, the Episcopal Hymnal, traditional children's sacred music, and the folk repertoire. Charlie Tighe is the Director of Children's Music.

The children will participate in services seasonally and are scheduled to sing on October 20, December 24 (5:00 p.m. Pageant), March 23 (Lent), and April 20 (Easter).

We will also offer Wednesday night Advent and Lent programs as part of Parish-wide education offerings - stay tuned for additional details!

Attention Gmail Users: If you use Gmail to receive our weekly e newsletters, please be aware that Gmail is phasing in its new "tabbed inbox" system, splitting your inbox into separate inboxes: Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, and Forums. They choose which tabs the emails delivered to you are placed. So the Shamrock newsletter may end up in your Promotions tab, even though you've requested it. But you can change that: If you use Gmail, check to make sure the new tabbed inboxes have been turned on for you. If so...
- Click on the Promotions inbox tab.
- Drag any emails from senders you want to hear from, and drag them onto the tab marked Primary.
- Then, when asked if you want future emails to go into your Primary inbox, just click yes.
You can also turn off tabbed inboxes in your Gmail settings. (Credit to Holy Rascals Radio for the instructions.)

Stephen Ministry: Are you looking for a way to share God's love and peace with others? Has anyone ever told you that you are "a good listener"?   Maybe you are being called to be a Stephen Minister. We are seeking to form a new class of Stephen Ministers to begin training in late September. Classes will be held on Monday or Wednesday evenings thru early March with commissioning of new Stephen Ministers in April or May.

Stephen Ministry training will equip you with skills to minister to those who are in need of care due to grief, illness, divorce, job loss, or other personal crisis.  You will practice being a supportive listener and learn how to be a caring presence walking with someone who may be feeling alone and lost.  For more information on training for this ministry at St Patrick's contact Anne Duncan 770 454-9053
