Event Details: 

 

How do natural buildings materials stack up as we move towards zero operational and embodied energy buildings?

 

Join the USGBC-REC for an evening of presentations followed by a panel discussion with experts on straw bale construction and energy consumption. This event will be hosted inside a straw bale house under construction which will form the basis of the discussion.

  • Learn natural building techniques for achieving very low operational and embodied energy buildings
  • Tour of a straw bale house under construction 
  • Speakers will each do a short presentation - followed by a panel discussion
  • Food and drink will be provided throughout the event
  • Continuing education credits - 

              USGBC LEED AP CE hours = 2         AIA CES LU / HSW hours = 2

 

On site parking is very limited so attendees are encouraged to carpool to the event and if this is not possible please park on Dufranc Ave. and walk to event site.
