Alliance for AG Higher Education awards AGTS community
AG General Superintendent George O. Wood presents
Dr. Oss with the Distinguished Educator Award.

Springfield, Mo.--- Sept. 5, 2015 --- The Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education recognized several members of the AGTS community during its biennial luncheon on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, in Orlando, Fla. 

These awards honor professors and administrators for distinguishing themselves in the Assemblies of God Fellowship through consistent excellence in scholarship, teaching and/or educational administration. It also recognizes their outstanding contribution and lifetime commitment to postsecondary education in the Assemblies of God.
  

Former AGTS academic dean and president Dr. H. Glynn Hall received the Distinguished Administrator Award. Dr. Hall served as the academic dean of AGTS from 1983-1987. In 1986, Hall was interim president before being appointed president of AGTS from 1987-1990. He also served as dean for the School of Graduate Studies at Southwest Assemblies of God University (SAGU) from 1996-2000 and as the associate dean for Institutional Effectiveness at SAGU from 2001-2009.



Dr. Douglas Oss, AGTS professor of New Testament and biblical theology received the Alliance's Distinguished Educator Award. Prior to his arrival at AGTS, Dr. Oss taught for 10 years on the faculty of Central Bible College (1988-1997; 2004-2005), and for four years on the faculty of Valley Forge Christian College (1984-1988). In addition to his teaching role, Dr. Oss also serves AGTS as director of the PhD in Biblical Interpretation and Theology and the director of the Cordas C. Burnett Center for Biblical Preaching.

Three AGTS community members also received service awards. Interim dean of faculty Dr. James Railey was recognized with the 35-Year Educator Award. Former academic dean David Bundrick was honored with the 30-Year Administrator Award. Biblical studies and exposition professor Dr. Deborah Gill received the 25-year Educator Award.
