- Chaplain Rutherford became the Army's 23rd Chief of Chaplains in 2011. He is the chief supervising officer of the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps.
- Before 2011, his most recent Chaplian assisgnments included serving as the Army's 22nd Deputy Chief of Chaplains at the Pentagon; Command Chaplain United States Army Europe and 7th Army, Heidelberg, Germany; and Command Chaplain Multi-National Corps Iraq, Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq.

Development and Alumni News
Pentecostal Leadership Fund
Thanks to the strong support of alumni and friends, AGTS received a total of $56,051 for the Pentecostal Leaders Scholarship Fund, surpassing the goal of $30,000. This additional funding helps provide grants for new students.
Alumni Prayerathon

A special thanks to the students, faculty, and staff who recently prayed with alumni throughout the U.S. AGTS alumni shared many prayer requests and praise reports of how God is moving in their churches, ministries, and overseas missions work. They responded with comments like: "Your call came at just the right moment" and "I needed your prayer tonight." Please continue to pray for alumni as they serve in strategic positions of ministry throughout the world.
Alumni Books and Publications
The second edition of Craig Keener's ('85/'87) Bible Background Commentary: New Testament was published this month by InterVarsity Press. The first edition sold more than half a million copies. The new edition includes endorsements from AG General Superintendent George Wood and Bishop Charles Blake of the Church of God in Christ. It has been revised based on 20 subsequent years of research. |

Faculty Writing
Johan Mostert
Wrote a chapter, "Ministry of Mercy and Justice," in the book entitled, Pentecostal Mission and Global Christianity, edited by Wonsuk Ma, Veli-Matti Karkkainen, and Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, published by Regnum Edinburgh Centenary Series, Volume XX, and is now in print.
Deborah Gill
The book she coauthored with Dr. Barbara Cavaness, God's Women Then and Now, has recently been published in a fourth language--Finnish, by Aikamedia Oy, 2014. It was originally published in the English language by Grace and Truth, 2004, with a revised edition in 2009. |
