Springfield, Missouri---May 1, 2013---Dr. Byron Klaus, President of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) since 1999, has been selected by Dr. Carol Taylor, President-Elect and Chief Executive Officer of the consolidated Evangel University, for reappointment to presidency of AGTS and service as a vice president of Evangel University, according to Dr. George O. Wood, chairman of the Evangel Board of Trustees. |

"Dr. Klaus has served with distinction as president of AGTS. In the consolidated Evangel University, the seminary will be embedded, and Dr. Klaus will serve as a vice president in the new structure. We are fortunate to have someone of his qualifications and heart to head up the seminary," Wood explained. President-Elect Taylor said, "Dr. Klaus is a highly respected voice in the Assemblies of God and in the world of seminary education. He is positioned as a national leader in seminary education, Pentecostal studies, and AG higher education and will be a strategic partner in leading the vision for the consolidated university into the future. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with Dr. Klaus." A long-time educator, Klaus formerly served as associate dean for Graduate Studies at Vanguard University. He also served as vice-president for Latin America ChildCare from 1990-1999. He has served in pastoral leadership of local churches in Illinois, Texas and California. Dr. Klaus earned his D. Min degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. An ordained Assemblies of God minister, he will be responsible for the School of Theology and Church Ministries with classes from the undergraduate to the graduate levels. |
