AGTS to celebrate 40th annual commencement

Springfield, Missouri---April 18, 2013---The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) will celebrate it's 40th annual Commencement on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Central Assembly of God, Springfield, Mo. The public is invited to attend.
AGTS will award Ph.D., Doctor of Ministry, Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees to 88 candidates from 26 states and 6 countries.
This year's commencement highlights defining moments in the lives of three student speakers and in the history of AGTS. Student speakers include:
- Yandy Leyva is a military chaplaincy candidate and a Master of Divinity candidate.
- Craig Burns serves as pastor of Vienna Assembly of God, Vienna, Virginia and is a Master of Arts candidate.
- Jodi Detrick is the chairperson of the Network for Women in Ministry, a life coach for the Northwest Ministry Network and a columnist for The Seattle Times. She is a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry.
Other graduation events include a golf tournament on Thursday, May 2; the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) Symposium and the Intercultural Doctoral Studies Investiture Ceremony at AGTS on Friday, May 3 at 12:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. The public is welcome to attend any of these events. At the D.Min. Symposium, 14 candidates will present summaries of field-based doctoral projects. Topics include: restoration; divine healing; bridging the divide between secular and sacred; empowering workplace believers as catalysts for change in their communities; stimulating church growth through scripturally-based business strategies and more.
