What's New?
AGTS to Host Flourishing Churches and Communities Event
AGTS, in conjunction with the Acton Institute, are co-sponsoring an event to premiere the book Flourishing Churches and Communities: A Pentecostal Primer on Faith, Work, and Economics for Spirit-Empowered Discipleship written by Dr. Charlie Self.This one-day event on January 29, 2013 will be comprised of a luncheon, panel discussion and dinner. Key event speakers are Charlie Self, Greg Forster, Dwight Gibson, and Stephen Grabill.
Schedule of Events
- Lunch: 12:00-1:30 p.m.
- Panel Discussions: 2:00-3:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Alumni Prayer-a-thon
On February 11-12, AGTS students, faculty and staff will be calling alumni to pray for you. Please note there will be no fundraising involved-our purpose in calling is to pray for you and encourage you.

AGTS will host a PREPARE/ENRICH certification workshop on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with a break for lunch (on your own).
The workshop with Gabe Lett, MA, LPC, ('03) is open to all AGTS alum and active, full-time AGTS, CBC and EU students at a discounted rate of $165. Local ministers and counselors may register at the regular rate of $175.

2013 SPS Annual Meeting Information
ON-LINE REGISTRATION is now LIVE for the 2013 Society for Pentecostal Studies Annual Meeting!
The 2013 SPS Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the Wesleyan Theological Society, and hosted by Seattle Pacific University, will be held in Seattle, WA, March 21-23, 2013.

Faculty News
Deborah Gill ('78/'79) will serve as part of the program review team visiting Southeastern University in January to review the College of Christian Ministries, Lakeland, FL.
Mark Hausfeld ('83) will attend the following events:
January 10-12: "A Summit on Islam" in Orlando FL
January 13: Preaching at the missions' service in Miamisburg, OH
January 18-20: Speaking at the missions banquet on Friday night (18th), leading a seminar, "Reaching Muslims in America," on Saturday (19th), and preaching the Missions Convention on Sunday (20th) in Marquette, MI.
Charlie Self will attend the Kern Foundation-Sponsored Oikonomia Network Retreat in Southern California January 24-26.
January 29: His book will be the featured resource at the special event at AGTS sponsored by the Acton Institute.
Charlie Self and Johan Mostert met with a delegation from the Northwest Ministry Network in November to obtain input on Discipleship Research (sponsored by Kern Foundation) in Seattle, WA. They will also meet with delegates in December from the Texas Districts in Dallas, TX for their input.

Alumni News
CoxHealth chaplain Larry Cooper ('80/'04)has been named as an associate member of the Association of Professional Flight Chaplains, an interfaith pastoral care organization that supports flight medicine crews and staff in emotional, physical and spiritual need. Founded in 2008, the organization provides members with tools and resources to support flight crews in their work. As CoxHealth's associate member of the APFC, Cooper works with the Cox Air Care crew.
Peggy Kirk ('85) passed away on October 12, 2012. She was a northwest marriage and family counselor, musician, and award-winning writer.
Travis Wagner ('99) was recently profiled in the Osseo, WI Tri-County News for his motivational presentation to elementary school students using a hot air balloon as his focus. His ministry goal is to use inflatables and hot air balloons as part of church outreaches.
Vickie Smeya ('06), an AG-commissioned hospice chaplain working with Oxford Health Care in Springfield, MO, received the Community Caregiver Award from the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau. She received the award at The Champions of Health Care Recognition Dinner, an event designed to "honor those in the medical industry that go above and beyond to give of themselves in the hopes of easing the discomfort of others and providing a superior level of care to the individuals who live, work and play in the Branson/Lakes Area."
Kimmett Bellows ('08) successfully led the merger of Southside Assembly and Glad Tidings Worship Center in Plainview, TX. Meetings began with board members and joint prayer services that culminated with the start of "United Assembly" on October 28, 2012 with a unanimous vote. Morning services are running 65 with 70 plus on Wednesdays.
