AGTS Named 2013 Military Friendly School

AGTS has been named by G.I. Jobs magazine as a 2013 Military Friendly School for its exceptional efforts to embrace America's military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus. This listing places AGTS among the top 15 percent of VA-approved schools across the country.

The 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 VA-approved schools nationwide. Each year schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year. This is the seminary's second consecutive year on the Military Friendly Schools list.

First-Ever Female Chaplain Assigned To Army Combat Unit

SmallNew guidelines open thousands of military jobs to women. An all-male U.S. Army battalion known as the "Screaming Eagles" has become the first combat arms unit to have a female chaplain.

Capt. Delana Small's ('12) recent assignment to the 101st Airborne Division is part of the Department of Defense's (DOD) decision, following its recent Women in the Service Review (WSR), to open additional Army, Navy, and Marine Corps positions to "female Soldiers at the battalion level in open military occupational specialties."
