The PYWA Core Team is excited to share a brief report from our recent Annual Meeting!

 

The Core Team gathered in Fort Worth, Texas for three days of dreaming, planning, and business (ok, and maybe a little fun!) in mid-November. Our work included conversation about:

• Core Team goals for 2014

• website updates, including a new offering that we are very excited to unveil in 2014!

• upcoming PYWA events, including the Winter Symposium at the APCE Annual Event in 2015 as well as initial planning for a PYWA event later that year

• our presence at the Big Ideas conference, at APCE 2014, and at General Assembly

• incentives for and benefits of PYWA membership

• the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, which we have decided to pursue

• preliminary conversation about starting a PYWA Endowment

• updates from our three subcommittees: Communications, Membership, and Advocacy

In addition, we were thrilled to choose the recipients of the 2013 PYWA Small Group Grants, who will be profiled in a later eBlast.   We also enjoyed each other and had some good fellowship!

The Core Team is really excited about what this next year has in store for PYWA, and we hope you are, too! As always, we look forward to new ways that we can better serve you as we seek to connect, uphold, and inspire Presbyterian youth workers - like you!
