SUMMERTIME MEANS ART BY THE FALLS
This two-day, juried fine arts and contemporary crafts festival is held each year in downtown Chagrin Falls in Riverside Park.
Come spend the day with the family and friends at the
30th ANNUAL ART BY THE FALLS--June 8-9. ABF has 120 artists from around the region showcasing their best work along with live music, demonstrations, entertainment, and a delicious selection of food and drinks!
Back by popular demand--VAC Masters Tent! Visitors will again have the unique opportunity to meet with ABF founding artists Judith Albert, A. Dale Harsh, Darlene Jackson, Tricia Kaman, Jan Mettee, and Lois Salmon Toole. These talented artists will share their stories, expertise and passion for the arts and you just might find that perfect piece!
Festival Favorites! First, our Children's Art Tent gives kids a chance to create their own masterpiece while trying something new! And, our Raffle Booth has one piece of artwork donated by EACH festival artist and our visitors can win something special by their favorite ABF artist!
ABF is free and open to the public. This year, free will offerings will be accepted. Festival hours are June 8 from 10am-7pm and June 9 from 11am-5pm.
ABF is sponsored by Prizm, Renewal by Anderson-Cleveland and is generously supported by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture and Ohio Arts Council. For more information, visit us at www.valleyartcenter.org or call us at 440-247-7507. CLICK HERE for more information.

BELL STREET ARTWALK
MAY 31
Just in time for summer, the Valley Art Center will open its doors for another night of "artful" shopping. On Friday, May 31 from 5-9pm, the Valley Art Center will host a multitude of artists and partner with its artistic Bell Street neighbors Alpaca Fiber Studio & Friends and Deborah Nicholl Interiors & Co., for a terrific evening of unique artwork, demonstrations and light refreshments at the BELL STREET ARTWALK.
NEW! VAC will have a drawing for a beautiful luminary (valued at $75), created by local artist and VAC instructor, Joan Rusek. All attendees will receive an entry form when they stop by the art center. And, with each Artwalk purchase (at the art center), shoppers will receive an additional entry form. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to add this great piece to your summer décor.
Stop by VAC for hand-stamped jewelry, personalized k.ey rings while you wait (great for Father's Day), custom handmade textiles pieces, different styles of beaded jewelry (think summer statement showpiece!), Shiori dyed Habotai silk textiles, hand-mixed soaps, shaving soaps, and sugar and salt scrubs--just to mention a few finds! Free parking will be available behind the VAC and Deborah Nicholl's Interiors. Contact Laurie Nalepa at office@valleyartcenter.org with any questions. CLICK HERE for more information. |

Student/Faculty Show Opens in June
The beginning of summer always brings with it the opening of our annual Student/Faculty Art Show. So plan on joining us Friday, June 21 from 6-8pm for our Opening Night Reception.
VAC students and faculty within the past two years (from June 2011 to present) are encouraged to select one of their best pieces to be part of this year's show! This is a terrific opportunity for the community to see what really goes on at the VAC, ask questions about art classes, find out what you'll learn, make new "art" friends and expand your creativity! Take advantage of this occasion to talk with and meet our teachers and students.
Interested? CLICK HERE for the Artist Contract and details. Exhibit runs through Thursday, August 1.
Last chance to see Creatures Featured which remains on exhibit through May 16. We are still collecting "Pet Pin-Ups" and "Spay It Forward" donations for PetFix. Also, don't forget your clean, used towels; Chlorox bleach; Bounty paper towels; hand sanitizer; and, 30 gal black garbage bags--PetFix can always use these five items! CLICK HERE for details!
Gallery hours: Mon-Fri 10am-4pm & Sat 10am-2pm. |
