National Jamboree Meeting
for Scouts & Parents
October 18, 2015

A 2017 National Jamboree informational meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at the St. George Catholic Church School Cafeteria* in Baton Rouge. Parents and youth will learn about the Istrouma Area Council's jamboree program for the upcoming 2017 National Scout Jamboree, which will be held in July 2017 at BSA's newest high adventure base, The Summit, in West Virginia.

While at jamboree, Scouts can choose to participate in mountain biking, mountain boarding, zip-lining, white-water rafting, BMX, all shooting sports, scuba and other aquatics, climbing/repelling, and much more. Take advantage of interactive exhibits, merit badge opportunities, patch trading, exploring the Sustainability Tree House, a rewarding offsite community service project, Sunday religious services, and high energy, youth-led stadium shows with 50,000 of your closest friends. Happening only once every four years, this is Scouting's biggest national event. Don't miss it!

The Istrouma Area Council will be sending a contingent of four Boy Scout troops and two coed Venturing crews- all assembled from youth from across the council. Registration is now underway, on a first come, first serve basis. For more information including Scout qualifications, visit the Istrouma Area Council website at www.iac-bsa.org, then scroll down and click on the logo on the right.

Join us on October 18, to learn more and meet the IAC jamboree leaders.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE
