This Fresh Challenge is

All Wrapped Up

McWrap NYC 2

To showcase the huge size, fresh ingredients and delicious taste of McDonald's new Premium McWrap, Atomic fabricated a billboard with a triple-roller system that shows the wrap rolling itself up. Positioning sensors and a chain drive are computer controlled to achieve vertical movement spanning more than 20 fee. A team of licensed structural and mechanical engineers made sure that the billboard would survive hurricane conditions and automatically stop in case of inclement weather.

Watch the work in progress.

Pledge or the Bergs Melt

   Coca Cola Polar Bears

This display for Coca Cola showcases the effect of climate change on polar bears. People are encouraged to donate to the World Wildlife Foundation. For every pledge made, the temperature inside the installation decreases, keeping the ice frozen and the climate ideal for polar bears. We used the 4-axis router to reproduce an Inuit sculpture of a mother bear and her cub. The icebergs are made from fiberglass so they can freeze and melt based on passerby generosity.
