Mobile-friendly Design!

It's time to dust off those walking or running sneakers - spring is here and summer is around the corner!  I hope you enjoy the below tips for healthy living.
EATING FOR GOOD HEALTH
Healthy Meals
If you know your eating habits could use a makeover, make gradual changes that are easy to adapt into your lifestyle.  http://www.choosemyplate.gov/MyPlate is a great resource with small changes toward healthier eating.  Making half your plate of food fruits and vegetables is a great first step!  If you need to grab quick meals while out, take a look at Anthem's Lunch in the fast lane for tips on getting the most nutrition from your choices.
BEING ACTIVE

Physical Activity and Health
Did you know that exercise reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease, some cancers and other chronic diseases?  Read The Benefits of Physical Activity to learn more.  Do you feel out of shape and not sure where to begin with a new active routine?  Start gradually with something you love to do.  Read Kaiser's Get moving, keep moving.
CAFFEINE OR NO CAFFEINE?

Is caffeine good for us?
There are many articles toting or negating caffeine use.  Take WebMD's Quiz Myths and Facts About Caffeine to assess your understanding of the pros and cons of caffeine use and what's considered a moderate and safe intake level.
IN THE KITCHEN
Healthy Recipes
We'd love your participation IN THE KITCHEN. Do you have some healthy recipes that you'd like to share? If so, please email [email protected] and I'll post your recipe in one of my future wellness e-newsletters. Here is a couple delicious sounding recipes: Slow Cooker Tortilla Soup and Artichoke and Ripe-Olive Tuna Salad (try substituting all or part of mayonnaise with plain greek yogurt). Bon appetit!
