Did you Know????
Tips to Keep Pets Safe this Summer

1.) Garden hoses- On hot days it makes sense to water your dog down with the garden hose. But be careful- water temperatures can reach up to 120 degrees in a hose that has been left out longer than two hours! Let the water run a bit to cool off before spraying your dog.
2.) Swimming- if you have a pool make sure you teach your pet how to climb out of the pool by himself/herself and make sure they can swim. If going on a boat, make sure your dogs wear their life jackets!
3.) Heat Stroke- pets are prone to heat stroke when left in a car, dehydrated, or left out in the sun without appropriate shade. Keep pets cool and hydrated this summer!
4.) Burned feet- dogs paws are very sensitive. Hot concrete can burn the pads of their feet easily. On very hot days keep walks short or stick to the grass.

Final Word: Pits for Patriots Motorcyle Ride is June 28th.

National Cat Adoption Month
June is National Cat Adoption Month. Kitten season is in full swing. If you're looking for a cat or kitten to add to your your family now is a great time to check out your local shelter, non profit cat adoption organizations, and pet store adoptions days.
Remember, adopting sweet older cats can be just as rewarding as adopting an energetic kitchen. If possible, adopt two cats together. They love to have a companion. Getting two litter mates will keep the cats happy and watching them play will provide you great entertainment.
