RSVP for April's Breakfast Roundtable
|
Expanding on the important resources and information we gained at March's Effective Interviewing workshop, we are hosting an open discussion on the topic to hear what our members have been doing to address this need in their organizations.
To add to the discussion, we've invited Laurie Dever to present on the role of risk management in the volunteer interview process. Laurie is the VP for Human Resources & Leadership Development with YMCA of Greater Richmond -- and has a wealth of experience that we know will benefit our GRAVA members!
Jeannine Panzera of Henrico CASA will be back with us to further enhance the group wisdom! It should be a very informative and lively discussion.

President's Message |
Remember the bubble chart from January's Workshop? I don't know about you, but I have spent a lot of time thinking about goals and what I should be striving for in 2014.
Unfortunately, goals don't usually achieve themselves without some significant planning and implementation on our end, so our roundtable in February focused on generating some action steps that we could take in order to reach our goals. So where are we with all of that?
What's the saying? If we continue to do what we've always done, we'll continue to get what we've always gotten. It's that simple. Don't end the year the way you started it. Don't go back to business as usual and don't fall back into doing things the way they've always been done.

New! GRAVA Buddy System
| Conversations at the February Roundtable led us into a discussion of an exciting idea that GRAVA board members have been tossing around - a buddy system - in which members who are relatively new to the professional would be paired with more experienced practitioners for regular problem-solving sessions.
The response to this idea was very enthusiastic and so GRAVA will be working to develop this more in the near future. If you would like to be paired with a buddy or be a buddy, please let s know!
