Get 2013 Off To A Great Start With A Workshop On Coaching Best Practices!

Why do so many managers make the mistake of providing their employees with answers to all their questions and problems? According to an article by Doug Silsbee, "Part of the problem lies in the fact that most managers haven't been trained as coaches."
Coaching is defined as
"the art and science of helping another person improve her or his performance or achieve her or his goal by seeing new possibilities for thinking or acting" and most people agree that it is an
essential part of managing and leading people.
So how can managers of volunteers develop their coaching skills, and what are some specific strategies that GRAVA members can take back to their desks and apply immediately?
Please join GRAVA in January as we get the new year off to a great start with a very interactive workshop on the art and science of coaching, presented by guest facilitator Tammy Jackson.
Tammy has over 20 years consulting, coaching, training design and facilitation experience. She is a consultant/faculty member with VCU Performance Management Group and she has also served as an instructor with the Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Program.
She is known for her ability to create a comfortable and interactive learning environment while maintaining focus on the level of detail needed to make the training material applicable when participants return to the workplace.
