The Lake County Sheriff's Office is excited to announce its newly improved user-friendly website at www.lakecountyil.gov/sheriff that features up-to-date information and quick access to important public safety information, including: 2014 laws, sexual predators, career opportunities, inmate information, and safety tips.

Services for Military Veterans and Their Families
Visit the Veterans Assistance Commission's revamped website to learn about how the VAC and its partners can help veterans and their families with financial and medical assistance, transportation, career development and more. Also, check out this online brochure to find additional information
Possible Discounts on Flood Insurance Policies
Residents in unincorporated Lake County may be able to save up to 20% on their flood insurance policies. Lake County is recertified each year through FEMA based on our floodplain and building code regulations and community information and education. With this rating, there is a potential savings of up to $227 per policy, saving Lake County residents $244,290 annually. To find out more about floodplain regulations and to determine if you are located in a floodplain, please visit our Flood Information page. To see if you qualify, contact your flood insurance agent.

Honor Flight Invites Public to Welcome Home Veterans
Celebrate the military service of nine World War II and two Korean War Veterans as they come home from their Lake County Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. Honor their service by making posters, waving American flags and wearing red, white and blue to the ceremony!

Did you know the Lake County Forest Preserves has a nature blog, a Facebook page, and a free mobile app? Connect with our forest preserves to learn about programs and fun things to do. Forest Preserves Save Taxpayers $2.6 Million
Due to successful refinancing, Lake County Taxpayers will be saving more than $2.6 million in interest payments from limited debt bonds, used to preserve open space, restore wildlife habitat, create new trails and improve public access to preserves. More 
Lake Zurich Road Construction in Old Mill Grove and Industrial Park
Construction As part of Lake Zurich's 2014 Road Improvement Program, construction recently began in the Old Mill Grove subdivision and Industrial Park areas. Construction will take place 7 a.m. - 7 p.m on weekdays, and 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on weekends. Street parking will not be permitted during construction hours. More information and map of roads that are impacted by the construction.

Lake Zurich Citizens Police Academy Hosts 10 Week Course

Tuesdays, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., September 9 - November 11
Citizen Police Academy is free to residents 21 years and older, and includes crime scene processing, patrol officer duties, drug interdiction and enforcement, police defensive tactics, firearms training, a ride along experience and more. Applications due August 27. More
