Drop It and Drive!
Distracted driving has become an epidemic in Illinois. Over 6,000 crashes were caused by some form of driver distraction involving a cellphone from 2008-2012. Thirty of them were fatal. To help prevent this deadly problem, the use of hand-held cellphones while driving on Illinois roads is now illegal, and police are out in full force. So put down your cell phones and drive safely Lake County! Learn More 
Doing Good Deeds for YOU!
The 19th Judicial Circuit Court and the Affordable Housing Corporation of Lake County recently launched a new mortgage foreclosure mediation program. In this video, the Lake County Recorder of Deeds interviews program representatives for an in depth look at this topic. Homeowners who need copies of their housing or property documents should contact the Recorder's Office or search for recorded documents online. Recorder of Deeds website

Independence Grove 2014 Beach Passes on Sale 
For the first time, unlimited passes to the beach at Independence Grove Forest Preserve are being offered. The pass allows holders unlimited use of the 400-foot sand beach that runs along the south bay of Independence Grove's 115-acre lake.
