National Heights Baptist Church ~ E-News      June 2016
God is doing exciting things at NHBC! Join me in praying for the upcoming ministries of the month, including our mission Vacation Bible School with Lifebuilders Ministries at Villa Marie Apartments June 6-9, our youth going to World Changers in St. Louis June 12-18, and Soul Quench Youth Camp at Baptist Hill June 27 - July 1. In June, we also celebrate staff anniversaries for Joshua Roberts (five years), Brian Miller (four years), and Jeanne Carpenter (four years). NHBC is blessed with a staff who love God, serve the Lord and lead the ministries of our church in Great Commission outreach to our community and world. Join me in saying a huge prayer of thanksgiving for Joshua, Brian and Jeanne, and for the opportunity to serve the Lord together through the ministries of National Heights. I can't wait to see what God is going to do through you!

Fill the Chairs
The choir has recently bought new chairs for the choir loft in the sanctuary.  The order has been sent to the manufacturer and they should be arriving mid-June.  Because of this, the choir has decided to have a campaign called, "Fill the Chairs".  Their goal is to increase their attendance to fill all 50 chairs by the end of the summer!  Would you like to join the choir and help them toward their goal?  We meet for practice on Wednesdays at 7:30pm and also on Sundays at 10:45am (immediately before 11am worship).  Come join us and fill the chairs!

   National Heights Baptist Church Friends,
I want to say a big Thank You for all of the kindness shown to Beverley and Me.  You took us in and showed us the love and friendship we were needing.   My recent surgery amplified your kindness.  The flowers, cards, and phone calls were much appreciated.  I want to thank Pastor Weatherford and Rick Keltner for staying with Beverley while I was in surgery.  I pray that I will be back soon and I pray that my fellow surgery patients will have a speedy and complete return to full activity and health.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, ~Michael and Beverley Moore.

Thank you for all the prayers, cards and visits during Dale's recent hospital
stay.  Thank you also to the Adult 3 department for the lovely flowers. Everyone has been such a blessing to us.  ~Dale & Nita Burrough

Dear Pastor Weatherford and National Heights Baptist Church,
Thank you so much for opening your church to us each year for our graduation, and practices.  Your assistance in making things run smoothly is very much appreciated.
                                                                                                                                 ~Sincerely, The Nurturing Place

Thanks to everyone for the visits, cards, calls, and prayers during my time of surgery and recovery.  Thanks to our Pastor Vaughn, Carl, Lynda, and Harriet for being there with Millie during my surgery.  Thanks to our Sunday School class, Adult II for the beautiful plant and to Ralph and Harriet for delivering it along with some very good home cooking.  It really warms the heart and helps the healing process knowing so many people really care.  May God bless each and every one!  ~Gary Dollins

National Heights Baptist Church,
