Love God ~ Love People ~ Grow Together
colorful-poppies.jpg

Great authors work diligently to make you want to read the next chapter in their work. One chapter ends, but there is more to know - characters to meet, stories to unfold, mysteries to solve. With a great book, you don't want to stop reading. You want to find out what happens next.

Last month we had a great celebration of the history and heritage of National Heights. We have rejoiced in all the ways God has worked through the years. What a blessing!

Now it's time to start the next chapter. God has exciting days ahead. As we await the Lord's return, we will see lives transformed, ministries multiplied, missions expanded and more, all for the glory of God. It is going to be an exciting ride! Pray for our church as we move forward together sharing the message of Christ with our community and with our world. I can't wait to see what God is going to do through you!

Prime Timers meet

Thursday, August 21 @ 11:00

We will be privileged to have Bob Paxton, better known as "Doo Wop Bob" from FBC, Willard, sharing with us his musical gifts and talents. Some of his songs will be from the 1950's "Doo Wop" music, that he has written Christian lyrics for. Bob has entertained in and around Springifeld for lots of people as well as out of state. Bob has a heart of adoration and gratutude for what God has done for him and feels blessed to be able to sing to share how wonderful and great God is to us. Of course, he has a desire to see people come to salvation as well as to help people grow closer to our Lord and Savior.

After a great time of entertainment from "Doo Wop Bob" we'll stop off at our "Famous Carry-In-Cafe" to enjoy some good food. We would be happy to have you come and enjoy fellowship and fun and good food.

Outreach Opportunities

National Heights has shown it is a congregation who loves and supports kids!! God has blessed us with wonderful folks who help kids each week here at NHBC, and we are SO very thankful for their faithfulness!!!

School begins in just a few weeks, and there will be many more opportunities where you can continue to show love, touch the hearts of kids in our community, and make a difference in their lives. There are one-time options (such as helping with the measuring or shoe distribution in conjunction with One Sole Purpose), weekly opportunities as a Buddy (30 minutes per week), and many, MANY additional possibilities. These can be means of outreach and ways to let our community see God's love through us. If you are interested in finding out more about ways you can bless a child's life and yours as well, please feel free to contact me. Also, continue to watch for further announcements throughout the year as we hear from schools. Thanks to all of you for your generous financial gifts throughout the year, and most of all, for your prayers for kids and their families, as well as the teachers and staff at each school, and the weekly leaders at our church.

~Jeanne Carpenter
