From the Pastor's Desk
WHATEVER IT TAKES - -
REACHING THE ONE
Thank you for your participation in this year's Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. The offering you gave will help start new churches, minister to individuals in need, proclaim Christ in inner cities, hospital room, and military bases. I appreciated this years theme: Whatever It Takes - Reaching the One. That should be the heartbeat of every believer, to do whatever it takes to make sure our friends, family and community know Christ. How will we reach the world with the gospel? One person at a time! Thank you for giving, praying and going to share the Good News. I can't wait to see what God is going to do through you! ~Vaughn Weatherford |

Bring food staples for Grand Oak Mission
Throughout the year, churches affiliated with the Greene County Baptist Association take turns helping to supply food for the pantry at the Grand Oak Mission Center on West Grand Street. Please bring canned goods and other staple food items to the canisters at the church entrances anytime in the next four weeks. The mission is distributing food to more and more families and they greatly appreciate our support.
'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the
least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Glenn Cozzens presents WOM program
Abuse...Physical... Mental... Oppression...Child Endangerment..Prostitution...Slavery... We would be amazed and uncomprehending to learn the extent of these problems existing in the area of Southwest Missouri. One of our own NHBC church family, Glenn Cozzens, is an International Justice Mission worker. He will be discussing these topics and sharing valuable information and insight at the Women on Mission meeting Tuesday, April 9, during our 11:00 program time. Men and women of the church are invited to attend this meeting in the fellowship room of the church.
The business session begins at 10:00 with Judy Divine, president, presiding. There will be a carry-in lunch served at the noon hour with hostesses Delores Thompson and Ruth Scott in charge. A group prayer time for our missionaries will be led by Patti Crocker. |
WOM learns, "What is Good News Club?"
On Tuesday, April 23, Women on Mission will gather in the fellowship room at 9:30 for a coffee to begin their morning activities. The business session under the leadership of President Judy Divine begins at 10:00. The program which follows at 11:15 will be an informative presentation by Carolyn Brown, a former member of National Heights, who has been involved in Good News Club for several years. She has seen a number of children involved in this program and knows many advantages. These are groups that are often held immediately after the school day ends which lend a positive, upbeat message to children involved.
