In 1984 -- long before email newsblasts and social media sites -- The Classics of Golf co-founder Robert S. Macdonald published the first "The Publisher's Bulletin" as a vehicle to share information about The Classics of Golf book club. Co-founder, Herbert Warren Wind served as The Classics of Golf editor during this time to complete his illustrious writing career.
Needless to say, the writing in "The Publisher's Bulletin" is superb and provides a unique perspective on The Classics of Golf catalog. On the last page of this Vol 1., No. 1, Macdonald includes "A word about the Masters" and the victory by Ben Crenshaw that year, in which he "won" on the last day with birdies on five of the last eleven holes.
