Bartlett Actuarial Group would like to say thank you to all of our clients, industry partners, and friends for making 2012 a great year. We will look back on 2012 with fond memories. We attended 12 conferences, expanded our staff by hiring an analyst and a credentialed actuary, opened an office in Vermont and made many new friends. Bartlett Actuarial Group celebrated the opening of our new office in Burlington, Vermont on December 13, 2012 with an Open House. Our Open House was attended by over 50 people who welcomed us into the Vermont captive community. Our office is located in the Vermont House at 131 Main Street, Suite 2B. Melanie Steen, Brian Johnson, Bill Bartlett and Andrea Bartlett toured 'The Road To The Sun' while attending the Montana Captive Insurance convention in Whitefish, MT. Bill Bartlett made a presentation on captive feasibility studies at the convention.

Melanie Morin, an Actuarial Analyst in our Phoenix, AZ office, played host to two of the visiting analysts from Charleston, SC, Vy Doan and Ben Conrad. They took this opportunity to visit many of our business partners and prospective clients in the Arizona community. In addition they spent part of a day hiking at Camelback Mountain.

-Ben Conrad and Andrea Bartlett attended the USA Risk Educational Forum in Charlotte, NC, May 23-24. Excellent sessions were offered on tax updates, med mal, regulatory issues, etc.

Bartlett Actuarial Group is pleased to announce that Jason Stubbs, ACAS, MAAA joined our firm in September, 2012 and will manage our office in Burlington, Vermont. Jason has eighteen years of actuarial experience and will bring a depth of knowledge to service his clients. He has worked in both the traditional and alternative markets in previous positions at Vermont Mutual Insurance Company, Travelers and Milliman. Please welcome Jason to our firm. Legaré Gresham, FCAS, MAAA spoke on the 'Role of the Actuary' in the Captives 101 session of the South Carolina Captive Insurance convention, Sept 17-19.
Ben Conrad, Actuarial Analyst, represented Bartlett at two Tennessee Captive Insurance seminars on June 10-11 in Chattanooga and Dec 4-5 in Nashville.
Erin Corduan, Actuarial Analyst, has completed the actuarial course titled 'Insurance Accounting, Coverage Analysis, Insurance Law, and Insurance Regulation'. One more exam and she will receive her Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Vy Doan, Actuarial Analyst, represented Bartlett at RIMS events including lunch/seminars for the Palmetto Chapter, Carolinas Chapter and the Western Carolina Chapter. She also attended the Carolinas regional convention in Asheville, NC, October 3-5.
Melanie Steen, Actuarial Analyst, represented Bartlett at two conventions in 2012, CICA, March 11-13 and the Montana Captive Insurance convention, July 24-26. Melanie will be based in Hawaii in 2013.
Sherri Roshitsh is our office manager responsible for the smooth operations of our firm. She also completed online courses at Villanova College for her designation as an HR Specialist. Jane Mendelsohn is the bookkeeper for Bartlett Actuarial Group responsible for bill payment, payroll and balancing the books. Andrea Bartlett, Principal, served as Treasurer of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association in 2012. In 2013 she will serve as President.
