This month's news includes some happy flowers!
I am also pleased to be working with Portraits Inc in Birmingham Alabama to conduct a future workshop - I'll share details as they become available. As many of you know, Portraits Inc , which is a brokerage firm for portrait artists worldwide, has represented me for many years and has included my work in the Grand Opening of its New York City gallery which took place February 26. Thanks to Portraits Inc and to curator Michael Gormley.
Mark your calendars for the Fifth Annual Portrait Artists of Arizona's Juried Exhibition and Sale, with the Opening Reception Saturday, March 28, 5-7 pm at the Scottsdale Artists School. The exhibit will include more than 50 paintings from some of the best portrait painters in the state, and I am delighted to have three of mine included!

Just delivered: "Andy"
I hope you can see by Andy's painting that he is a kind and happy man. A pleasure to once again paint for this lovely family. They choose this setting with an impressionistic backdrop of the Prescott National Forest, because of their love for the area. The painting is in oil, 20" x 16".

New still life works
Last month I took a flower painting workshop with Kathy Anderson, a delightful artist whom I've been so happy to get to know over the past year, and whose beautiful edge management and crisp clean color I've long admired.
"Debbie's Garden" as painted in class, with some fresh antique roses one of my fellow students was kind enough to bring to class. I painted "Pansies & Clementines" when I got back to my studio last week.

Beat the heat!!!! Next summer, I'll be teaching again in Prescott, AZ. "For Love or Money: Portraiture and the Pursuit of Excellence" is a 4-day portrait painting workshop that focuses on both painting skills and on the business aspects of art. I do not take more than 12 students in my workshops; every one of my students deserves a lot of personal attention, and I don't believe that can be accomplished with a larger student group. Next summer, I'll be again conducting a 4-day portrait painting workshop that focuses on both painting skills and on the business aspects of art. I am very excited to teach in this beautiful facility, in an equally beautiful setting - it's been years - and I mean YEARS - since I've been in the Upper Midwest for summer, and it will be a fantastic time of year. Again, space is EXTREMELY limited. I do not take more than 12 students in my workshops; every one of my students deserves a lot of personal attention, and I don't believe that can be accomplished with a larger student group.
