As I continue to sample different online products, i have discovered that there is not ever just one place that does it all, or that does everything equally well.. So in addition to my RedBubble Store, I've also started a stone at www.zazzle.com, where I've been delighted with the quality of many of the orders I've placed over the years ...including travel mugs, laptop sleeves and phone cases.

Just Delivered: "Four Children", oil 40 x 60

And just in time for Thanksgiving! What a wonderful family, and what great kids! This was one of the most challenging portraits I've painted to date, and also one of the most fun. The parents loved loose, easy brushwork, combined with refined likenesses, and a composition evocative of a mix between John Singer Sargent and Vanity Fair:) The children are charming, funny, smart, and delightful and in the process I learned a lot about double-death chocolate cookies, the effects of radiation on germinating seeds, and  how best to send club guests running for the hills during a photo shoot:)  Thanks for everything, Mary and Frank!

"Today's Portraits: Emerging Artists and Living Masters", Portraits, Inc. and NYC's Salmagundi Club

Last week, I was beyond pleased to attend the Portraits Inc exhibit, curated by Michael Gormley, and hosted at Manhattan's iconic Salmagundi Club. What an honor to have my portrait of Burt Silverman keeping company with works by some of the country's leading portrait artists, including Daniel Greene, John Howard Sanden, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Jamie Lee McMahan, and of course, my very own subject, Burton Silverman.
