It's almost Labor Day, so I've been thinking I should do a little work:) Actually the summer has been crazy with (good) busy easel time, and staying away from the Phoenix heat as much as possible.

For some time I have been looking for a place for my clients and artist friends to order products (yes, including the ubiquitous T-Shirt!) with printed painting images. I've just added a RedBubble Store, where you can order gifts (doesn't your teenage child need a smart phone case with her painting on the back?), especially the exquisite note cards - as holiday stocking stuffers? Ah, yes, I thought so, too.

Also on the art marketing front, I've joined a Pinterest Board, Art Direct From Artists for artists who sell original works directly to the public outside the brick and mortar gallery world, and have (and will continue to add) uploaded a number of original still life pieces that are available. I am also working to update my website where eventually you'll be able to find available works as well.

Last month I shared my painting of Burt Silverman, and I am thrilled that Michael Gormley has written an amazing article for Portraits, Inc - thank you to Julia Baughman, Michael Gormley and everyone at Portraits, Inc for making this happen! I've also included a reprint in my own blog. Blog  (it's the green button below, why it isn't the standard orange, I have no idea:) )

Just Delivered: Julie & Don, Silver Anniversary
_______________________________________________________________________________

I am thrilled to unveil my portrait of Julie and Don, created as a surprise for Don, with Julie as Conspirateur Majestique!

Over the next couple of weeks,I'll be blogging about the creation of this portrait, which was as much fun as I've had in a long while - a lovely couple, lovely client, and a woman I am glad to say I have come to know with affection throughout the process.

Introducing my RedBubble Store!
Cards, prints, t-shirts and more....
_______________________________________________________________________________

I'm in the process of adding work every day to RedBubble - it's a great way to order cards (and more) of your favorite paintings - I've just received my first card and print order and the quality is fantastic.

It will take me a while to get commission images loaded, but if you want me to add your painting to the top of the list, just let me know.

Here is one of my all time favorites:)
Oil portrait of young girl
The Artist's Child, oil 12 x 12
As I continue to add items, I am also ordering some samples for myself so that I can continue to check the quality - but so far, I'm thrilled!

It would mean a great deal to me if you would be kind enough to share the RedBubble link with others who might be interested!
Class Kiwi (Anne, who came all the way from New Zealand to take this class!), and two other excellent examples of what my amazing students did this week ...(more on my Blog). Workshop: Franciscan Life Process Center
October 9-12, Lowell, MI
This fall, I'll be again conducting a 4-day portrait painting workshop that focuses on both painting skills and on the business aspects of art.

I am very excited to teach in this beautiful facility, in an equally beautiful setting - it's been years - and I mean YEARS - since I've been in the Upper Midwest for Autumn, and it will be a fantastic time of year.

Again, space is EXTREMELY limited. I do not take more than 12 students in my workshops; every one of my students deserves a lot of personal attention, and I don't believe that can be accomplished with a larger student group.

See the details here on Facebook - you can register directly through Evertbrite - hope to see you there!
