Sophia's Kitchen Corner

Basic 1-2-3-4 Cake
Ingredients: 1C (2sticks) butter 2C sugar 4 eggs 3C self-rising flour 1C milk 1tsp vanilla extract Directions: Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 3 (9inch) cake pans. Using a electric mixer, cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar and continue to cream for 6 to 8 mins. Add eggs, beating well after each addition. Add flour and milk alternately to creamed mixture. Add vanilla and continue to beat until just mixed. Divide batter equally among pans. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan 5 to 10 mins. Invert cakes on cooling rack. Cool completely and spread cake layers with your favorite frosting to make a 3layer cake.

Get to Know Our Staff Montrell Smith
Montrell is one of the liveliest of Sophia's kitchen crew! He works as line cook to help prepare the tasty dishes that are served in Sophia's. His favorite part about his job are the people he works with. He says that he enjoys the different personalities that he is surrounded by and he never has a dull day at work. When not working at Sophia's, Montrell likes to spend time with his family and friends. He likes to refine his culinary skills outside of work by cooking for his family.
