Heritage Conservancy Hosts 5th Annual Farm to Table Fundraiser
farm to table

On Saturday, July 27th, we held our fifth annual Farm to Table at Lindsay Farm in Warminster, PA. Hosting to a sell-out crowd, nearly 200 of Bucks County's truest foodies and conservation conscientious were in attendance at this fundraising dinner event. It was a beautiful summer evening complimented by a light breeze.

Creatively prepared by acclaimed chefs from Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods and Earl's Bucks County, guests were treated to an array of farm-fresh delicacies that pleased the palate. Hors d'oeuvres followed by a buffet-style dinner were served in a rustic and picturesque outdoor setting. While indulging in these delectables, guests had the opportunity to participate in silent and live auctions for a variety of exciting items provided by local artisans and vendors.

Farm to Table is aimed at providing a unique opportunity to connect people with nature. With the backdrop of Lindsay Farm's lush rolling hills bordered by fields of cornstalks, this setting embodies the essence of why what we do matters. By inviting our supporters to visit one of our beautiful preserved properties, we connect people to our mission and the land on a deeper level through a delicious meal prepared with local ingredients found right in Bucks County.

"We're in the business of making dreams come true," said Jeff Marshall, our president, as he addressed the Farm to Table attendees about our mission. "So dare to dream, and we will keep our promise of preserving our beautiful natural resources for a healthy, bright future."

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event a success, and thank you to everyone who came out to support our mission. You are helping to protect our land and historic heritage for generations to come! To view more photos from the event, click HERE.

Christmas in July

Doesn't it feel like fall is just around the corner with this mild weather we've been having? It's still summer, but fall will be here before we know it. Then, in the blink of an eye, the holidays will be upon us! Now is the time to start thinking about planning your holiday party. Host your party at the stately Aldie Mansion and impress your guests with an evening of elegance.

Whether you're hosting an office party or a soiree for friends and family, Aldie is the perfect location to ensure your party is talked about for months to come. Every year, the mansion is lavishly adorned with holiday decorations throughout the duration of the season. Erin Hockensmith, our on-site coordinator, has contributed to the success of many events. Here is what some of her happy clients had to say:

"Erin, I cannot thank you enough for your incredible professionalism and can-do attitude in regards to our Questers fundraiser. It was a great success, and you were a huge part of that." -Tammy, Mercer Miles Questers

"Erin, thank you so much for all of your help planning the community conversation. Your professionalism, positive attitude, and attention to detail made our lives so easy!" -Marissa, United Way

Give yourself an early present and start planning now to avoid the stress of last-minute holiday planning! Erin is here to help you along the way. We can accommodate small parties as well as parties with up to 200 guests on weekdays in the daytime or evening. If you would like to learn how Erin can customize a party package to fit your needs, contact her at 215-345-7020 ext. 134 for a consultation. Heritage Conservancy's President Elected Vice-President of PALTA's Board

We are pleased to announce that the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association (PALTA) recently elected our president, Jeff Marshall, to serve as Vice-President of its Board of Directors. Jeff joined the board in June of 2012, and held a seat for a year before being elected Vice-President.

Heritage Conservancy is a proud member of the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association. PALTA works to protect Pennsylvania's natural resources that help to ensure healthy, prosperous and secure communities. PALTA assists land trusts and other conservation practitioners to improve their effectiveness, builds public understanding, and advocates for better governmental policy. Its mission compliments the work that we do here at Heritage Conservancy.

Congratulations on this achievement, Jeff. As you continuously do for Heritage Conservancy, we know that you will do great things for the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association in helping to protect our beautiful land!

Many Faces, One Voice:
Erin Hockensmith, Conservation Steward

For over 2 years years, Erin Hockensmith has worked within Heritage Conservancy's Properties & Programs Department as a Conservation Steward. She helps to further the goal of our mission by monitoring our own preserved properties as well as privately owned eased properties. Erin prepares annual monitoring reports for these properties and conducts baseline documentation surveys.

Along with these responsibilities, Erin also coordinates all weekday corporate and special events at Aldie Mansion. This planning consists of everything from caterer selection to food and décor. Erin's excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and ability to understand a client's needs ensure that every event runs smoothly. Erin would be happy to help plan your next event!

Erin graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Before joining our staff, she worked at Bountiful Acres Garden Nursery for five years. Erin's expertise in landscape design allows her to maintain the beautiful grounds of Aldie Mansion and several other Heritage Conservancy properties. Her creative arrangements located around Aldie contribute greatly to the splendor of the mansion.

"I love that we are helping to create a healthier environment and community. Whether people are just driving by one of our preserved properties or stepping foot on one, I feel that even if subtly, we have made their day a little better," said Erin about the reward of working for Heritage Conservancy. "Those who support our mission and believe in what we do share something with us - we care. We care about the health of the environment, our neighbors...our future. "

Erin's contributions are certainly creating a better future for our environment!
