YOU'RE INVITED:
Independence Day in Palmetto Bay means having a blast with friends and family in the Village's Downtown District! Please join us July 4th, 5 - 9:30 p.m.for an evening of fun, food, and fireworks. See our Dos & Don'ts list below. Event highlights:
- Free event, open to the public
- Giant fireworks display
- Live music by "The Fire Brigade"
- Free "Fun Zone" for kids with mechanical rides
- Sack race, 3-legged race, hot dog eating contests
- "Around the World" Zumba Experience
- Free American flags, pinwheels, hand-held fans
- Beer-garden for adults
- Food for purchase(vendor registration)

LOCATION:
The center of festivities is the Village Hall complex at 9705 E. Hibiscus St., and all along Franjo Road, which will be closed to traffic. Fireworks launch from Palmetto Bay Park. Thousands of spectators will be in attendance, so plan to arrive early to get a parking spot, to enjoy the games and activities, and to stake out a perfect spot for your blanket and beach chairs -- enjoy the show!

HAVE A SAFE AND PLEASANT INDEPENDENCE DAY
- Do ride your bicycle or golf cart to the event
- Do use a bicycle light, if riding (fireworks end at 9:30 p.m.)
- Do consider parking you bike or golf cart in designated lots
- Do consider public transportation or satellite parking
- Do come early to secure a good parking spot
- Do listen for lightning warnings and take cover if siren sounds
- Do bring with a beach blanket and comfortable chairs
- Do bring cash as all vendors may not accept credit/debit cards
- Do support local businesses/vendors
- Do tell all your friends and family
- Don't bring your own grill or other open flame apparatus
- Don't bring your own fireworks and firecrackers
- Don't wear dark clothes if plan to walk or ride home
- Don't worry about bringing beer/alcohol -- vendors are serving
- Don't bring pets as they get agitated by crowds and/or fireworks
- Don't forget sunscreen
- Don't forget bug spray
- Don't forget an umbrella if Mother Nature decides to make rain
- Don't forget to clean up after yourself
- Don't forget to pick up a free American flag, pinwheel, or fan
