Enjoying the Holidays...
The holidays are officially upon us -- that wonderful time of year when we enjoy quality time with friends, family, and neighbors. The holidays are also a time to share with folks in our community may be in need of a helping hand. Please join your fellow neighbors in supporting our Annual Holiday Food Drive as we partner with the Palmetto Bay Canal Association to make a huge difference for those less fortunate around us. The donations you make will benefit the Chapman Partnership who serve the homeless. Please drop off your non-perishable items at Village Hall during regular business hours through Dec. 20. You are also invited to enjoy the season's spirit of fun and camaraderie -- our 4th annual "Holiday by the Bay" (see below). The winter wonderland of lights, Santa Claus, carnival rides, and snow (yes, it will faux snow in Palmetto Bay), will be a holiday delight for the whole family. also want to mention some important business: The Town Hall Meeting regarding the proposed Fire Station on the Village's north side takes place Dec. 11 (see left). My holiday wishes for all my friends and neighbors are a hope that these special days will be all that you hope they will be. Have a wonderful holiday season.

Free Santa Photos and 'Snow'
The elves in our Parks Department have a few new surprises planned for the 4th Annual Holiday by the Bay at Ludovici Park, Dec. 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. Free photos with Santa Claus and simulated snow flurries join the cheery blend of activities this year. Also enjoy carnival food, student performances, and arts & crafts sales. Special thanks to South Motors BMW and Kimley Horn & Assocs. for their generous contributions to this wonderful holiday party. And a big Santa-sized thanks to the Palmetto Bay Village Center for providing parking, immediately south of the park.
Holiday Shopping Safety Tips
Keep Your Holidays Merry

'Tis the season your Palmetto Bay Policing Unit issues its "Three A's of Crime Prevention:" Be Aware of your surroundings; be Alert to suspicious people and vehicles; and Avoid dangerous situations. See the complete list of holiday safety tips that will help keep the "merry" in your holidays. Officers also are preparing for the onslaught of ID theft and credit-card fraud that happens this time of year. You should be prepared, too. Read more about "Operation Safe Holiday," a program of the Miami-Dade Police Department Economic Crimes Bureau. Remember, there is nothing in your purse or wallet worth serious injury or death.
