From the Mayor's Desk
"Charting a New Course..."

It is my esteemed duty as Mayor of the Village of Palmetto Bay to formally share with you once a year the progress and challenges facing our municipality. I am honored to present the 11th Annual State of the Village. I look forward to this address for so many reasons. While it is an opportunity to review Palmetto Bay municipal operations and an overview of Village goals and objectives, it also provides a wide range of talking points for a conversation with residents on their views about our progress and what they see for the future of Palmetto Bay. And as the theme of this year's address is "Charting a New Course," expect great emphasis on the Village's downtown redevelopment initiative. Please join us. I look forward to seeing you.

Video to Debut at State of the Village, Oct. 23
Redevelopment in the Limelight
One of the highlights of the State of the Village event is the debut of a 10-minute video, entitled "Charting a New Course." This video features details of the downtown redevelopment initiative, in the words of several notable local personalities. Special thanks to members of the Downtown Redevelopment Task Force (DRTF) who participated in the video production, including President & CEO-SunState Bank Leif Gunderson, Attorney Ed Ludovici (pictured above), Principal-MC Harry & Associates Jim Piersol and his wife Chris Piersol, Village Director-Building's & Capital Projects Edward Silva, and Managing Partner-Palmetto Bay Village Center Scott Silver. Read more about the downtown redevelopment project.

Village officials and community partners will be distributing candies and stickers for all trick-or-treaters.
