Thanks!
Greetings!

Around the world, for more than 40 years, Earth Day is celebrated during April. Each year, Palmetto Bay hosts educational awareness programs and activities in honor of Earth Day. The ladybug release remains the signature event of our Earth Week Celebration. And this year, we up the ante by releasing three ladybugs for every Village resident. That's a total of 75,000 ladybugs! Whether it is because Biscayne National Park is just off our shores, or that Palmetto Bay is home to amazingly beautiful municipal parks, we remain committed to honoring Mother Earth and taking care of our precious natural resources. We encourage you to save gas by shopping at local stores, reduce your water consumption, and re-use and recycle -- our planet and our Village thank you for it! One last point: Don't forget to take the Mayor's Challenge!

75,000 Hungry Ladybugs Take to Skies
Palmetto Bay officials visit schools to help release 75,000 ladybugs over a three-day period (3 per resident!). Ladybugs are nature's pesticide because they eat pesky aphids -- so we don't have to use chemical sprays. Yummy. Read more.
