Greetings from Village Hall

It has been said Palmetto Bay is a small town with a big sense of community. Well, we've certainly got a big line-up of upcoming community events to prove it. As your new Vice Mayor, I feel privileged to be part of the Village team responsible for providing such an amazing variety of quality programs and activities for the residents of Palmetto Bay. From health fairs and talent shows, to dog parades and major picnics, we hope to keep all of you engaged over the next few months enjoying the wide variety of amenities this "Village of Parks" so proudly offers. I look forward to seeing you -- and serving you in my new role as your Vice Mayor. But if we don't run into each other soon, please feel free to contact me with your ideas and input on how I may better serve you and our community as a whole.

John DuBois, Vice Mayor-Palmetto Bay

New Twist to Health & Wellness Fair

WellnessFair

"Health" and "wellness" are two very important words -- especially this time of year, as so many of us are challenged by ambitious New Year's resolutions. Be it weight loss, exercise, or learning how to truly pamper yourself, allow the Village to help you with your personal goals by attending the 2nd Annual Health & Wellness Fair, Feb. 10, (12-5 p.m.) at Ludovici Park. Dozens of vendors will be on hand with a multitude of products and services -- and free prizes. Most important to remember, this is a "fair," so come out and make it a family day in the park.

"Boomers Got Talent"

Speaking of prizes, this year's event offers a new twist that might even help you with your financial goals -- up to $300 in cash prizes! With special thanks to sponsorship by the Ludovici family, senior villagers 55-and-up are invited to showcase their talents during the "Boomers Got Talent" contest, 2-4 p.m. So shake a tail feather and we'll see you there!

Read more about the event, get a vendor registration form, and sign up for the talent contest. If interested in underwriting this or any other annual Village events, contact Mary Fernandez, the Village's Special Events Supervisor, or call 305-259-1234.

Council Honors National Players

Palmetto Bay Pee Wee Football Division-II players nabbed the National Championship at the 56th Annual Pop Warner Super Bowl in November. As Coral Reef Park is the team's home field, Palmetto Bay Mayor Shelley Stanczyk and Village Council called them in to congratulate the players and coaches for this major achievement, along with their families and friends. See photos on Village Facebook.
