Annual Mother's Day Tea
Elinor Haas will lead a discussion on Ida and Mamie at the Annual Mother's Day Tea
ABILENE, Kansas - The annual Mother's Day Tea will be held in the Eisenhower Presidential Library Courtyard on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. The tea will feature a program given by Elinor Haas discussing Ida and Mamie Eisenhower with entertainment provided by the Salina Symphony Cello Quartet. This program is open to the public. Reservations are required with payment of $15 due by April 29.

Elinor Haas is well-known in the Abilene area. She taught high school English at Abilene High School for 37 years. She has volunteered at the Eisenhower Presidential Library for 25 years. In 2008, Haas received the Weidman Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for her years working with collections donated to the library adding up to more than 9,000 hours. Over the years, Haas has given programs for numerous groups and organizations in the area.

The menu selection will include finger sandwiches, lavender scones, Mamie's Million Dollar Fudge, and mascarpone filed strawberries with a variety of teas. Catering is provided by Applemint Catering and will include a mimosa bar by donation.
