Ike Needs You!

ABILENE, Kan. - Do you enjoy meeting people from all over the world? Love history? Want experience for that college or job application? Then we have the opportunity for you!

Volunteers are needed immediately to assist staff in providing tours of the Boyhood Home at the Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene this summer. As a volunteer guide you will be a steward of the rich history of the Eisenhower family and Abilene, Kansas. No experience necessary-we'll train you to greet visitors and provide tours of the home where President Eisenhower grew up and the family resided until his mother, Ida Eisenhower, passed away in 1946.

Applicants for these volunteer positions must be at least 16 years old and able to pass a background check, and must commit to working a 4 hour shift at least once per week through August. Training on the Eisenhowers and Abilene will be provided; your people skills, enthusiasm, and sense of humor will do the rest!

Please contact the volunteer coordinator by calling 785.263.6700 or email [email protected] for additional details.

The Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home, a nonpartisan federal institution, is part of the Presidential Libraries network operated by the National Archives and Records Administration. Presidential Libraries promote understanding of the presidency and the American experience. We preserve and provide access to historical materials, support research, and create interactive programs and exhibits that educate and inspire.
