ABILENE, Kan. - Judge Tom B. "Tommy" Webb, Sublette, Kan., will speak at the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home on Thursday, August 14. The free public program is set for 7 p.m. in the Visitors Center Auditorium. Local groups co-sponsoring the program include American Legion Post #39 and Rotary Club of Abilene.
Judge Webb's presentation, "You Can Make a Difference," focuses on making a positive difference in a negative world. He has experienced life from a perspective not shared by individuals who live in this part of the world.

A war orphan, born in Korea in 1952, Webb lived in a world of hunger, desperation and fear, simply trying to survive each day. In 1959, he was adopted, came to the U.S. and began to build a successful life in rural Kansas. Webb earned a B.A. from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe, and a M.S. in clinical family therapy from Friends University, Wichita. From 1970 to 1974, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He and his wife Judy have two children.
Webb has served as District Magistrate Judge for the Twenty-Sixth Judicial District in southwest Kansas since 1988. His dynamic message to value and appreciate the qualities of others is delivered with a sense of humor that will be inspiring, thought provoking and entertaining. |
