ABILENE, Kan. - The 35th Infantry Division Band Kansas Army National Guard will perform a "Homefront Concert" on Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in the Visitors Center Auditorium of the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home. The concert is free and open to the public.
The performance will include military marches, patriotic music, big band selections and a special salute to veterans and their families. The concert is presented by the Citizen Soldiers of the Kansas Army National Guard Band, Chief Warrant Officer Stephen J. Patterson, Commander.
Based in Olathe, Kan., the band has several different performing units. The band has performed throughout the Midwest and on two tours to the East Coast and three international tours. All members are part-time citizen soldiers that come from a variety of work experiences in their full-time careers.
"We are pleased to have the 35th Infantry Division Band perform here," said Karl Weissenbach, Director, Eisenhower Presidential Library. "The event is a great way for families to enjoy a summer afternoon of patriotic music," he added.
