Brown Bag Lunch Talk on the 1956 Suez Crisis

ABILENE, Kan. - The 1956 Suez Crisis will be the topic of a brown bag lunch discussion at the Eisenhower Presidential Library on Thursday, Feb. 21. This free program is open to public and scheduled for noon in the Visitors Center Auditorium.
Scott Parker, a graduate of West Virginia University, has spent the last 40 years in the medical industry, the last 15 of which he served as the Executive Vice President for one of the world's largest medical device firms. Throughout his corporate life, Parker continued his passion for history. Upon retirement he is pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Parker is currently conducting research at the Eisenhower Presidential Library Archives.
In 1956, as a result of the British/French/Israeli incursion in the Suez, the Eisenhower administration faced a potentially dangerous confrontation with the Soviet Union. This lecture concerning the Suez Crisis will explore all of the nuances of this very dangerous international situation.
