Weekly Tips to Help You Create the Life You Desire
Tip of the Week

Cool It

Is the summer heat getting you down? Here are ways to keep your cool:

  • Wake up at sunrise and go outside. Feel the coolness in the air, take a walk if you have time or just enjoy your morning coffee or tea, iced if possible, in the fresh morning air.
  • Not a morning person, then take ten minutes outside when the sun goes down.
  • Refrain from wearing restrictive clothing. Wear your loosest, stretchiest, most comfortable outfits. Have a sweater handy for air  conditioning.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Freeze water in plastic bottles and take them along to cool your body during a walk in the heat.
  • If you perspire, remind yourself that it is your body's natural cooling mechanism and appreciate how well your body is working.
  • Eat light. Cool, fresh fruits and vegetables, icy protein enhanced smoothies, cold sliced meats, and crisp salads keep your kitchen and body from heating up.
  • Take a slightly warm shower after work or swish your feet in a tub filled with a few inches of cool water.
  • Look at photos of winter scenes. Either imagine yourself in the picture or be thankful that it is hot, hot, hot outside!
