Self Care!
Weekly Tips to Help You Create the Life You Desire
Tip of the Week
  I Can See Clearly Now

Did you know something as simple as cleaning your glasses can brighten up your day? Even if you are fortunate enough not to need glasses, your eyes can get tired and strained.

Here are some self care strategies for your precious eyes:
  • If you haven't been to the eye doctor lately, make an appointment. Along with changes in vision, as we age, certain diseases and conditions of the eye occur more frequently.
  • Keep contacts and eyeglass cleaner nearby. Clean your glasses to avoid eye strain and headaches. Use eye drops especially formulated for contacts to clean your lens.
  • Soothe your eyes during the day with a few drops of saline eye drops.
  • To relax from eye strain, stare off into the distance for a minute or two. You can also close your eyes, then cup a hand over each eye and resSunglassest your eyes for a couple of minutes.
  • An eye pillow filled with lavender or another fragrant herb is a wonderful treat after long day. You might also appreciate a gel filled eye mask that can be heated or cooled depending upon your mood.
  • Finally, make sure you wear sunglasses when you go outside, even on cloudy days. They can protect your eyes from harmful rays and prevent squinting.

Contemplating marriage?
Planning a wedding?
Deciding to move in together?

Falling in love and committing to a "forever" relationship could be the ultimate act of optimism. Unfortunately, the statistics are not on the side of "happily ever after." One way to beat the odds is to participate in a focused examination of your relationship. It may sound unromantic but this kind of personalized counseling can actually enhance the romance and intimacy that most people desire.

I have counseled too many couples who did not address important issues prior to their commitment to each other. To help others, I have designed a four to six week series of counseling sessions that address the problem areas that typically arise in relationships. Together we can find solutions to those challenges or prepare you for what may become issues in the future.

Please pass this on to anyone you know who is ready to take the leap. It is especially important for people blending families. I am definitely an optimist about relationships yet I believe a realistic look can improve the possibilities!
