One last missive in 2015: Wow - what a year for green buildings in Massachusetts!

Your Partner for Success in Green Building
Happy Holiday Time! This week will be a flurry of activity, and hopefully next week will be somewhat quiet as the year winds down.

What a great year for green buildings. We continue to maintain our leadership in energy efficiency, LEED certifications, Living Building Challenge progress and the growing databases on building performance coming out of BERDO and BEUDO. We have 781 certified LEED buildings - and congrats to Harvard for their 100th certification!

Thank you all for joining us on this excellent adventure. Come on out to our upcoming events - esp. our Annual Meeting on 1/28/14 - see below.

Keep up the great work to help us achieve More Green Buildings!

LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Class

If you or a colleague need to take the exam to build up your resume and get up to speed with LEED, join us for this all-day exam prep course. After this session, you will be ready to jam on the exam!

This is a great course to take and an excellent, condensed way to get on top of the material. Practice questions and test-taking strategies are shared and you'll walk away with confidence!

Advocacy Highlights:

At our December Advocacy Committee meeting, we welcomed more new members and restructured the committee to make our efforts even more effective in the coming year.
  • The 2015 Massachusetts Clean Energy Report found that clean energy is an $11 billion industry in the state, and the industry's employment grew by 11.5% this past year.
  • This year marked the first ever Building Day at the Paris climate talks. We're excited to see how this momentous international agreement to mitigate the effects of climate change will benefit Massachusetts' clean energy industry!
  • We've been meeting with legislators about PACE Financing, to get this energy efficiency financing tool in the omnibus energy bill next month. PACE is one of those rare issues that is supported by both the business and environmental communities, so we're expecting major legislative momentum in the next two months.
